An urban Christian refuge of fun and safety for children of all ages. The primary purpose of The Open Door is to provide a safe refuge of fun and learning for the children in its complex urban neighborhood. In addition to recreational programs, The Open Door offers children the opportunity to learn about God through Bible study, charitable works, and perhaps most importantly, interaction with Christian adults.

Looking to volunteer in the Pittsburgh area?
We need volunteers who wish to work directly with the kids in things like our After School program and Friday Night Rec., and we also have opportunities to serve this ministry in other ways—from event-planning to soup-making to wall-painting to newsletter-folding, your gifts are important and critical to The Open Door.
