11th Annual Race For Grace

4/7/2018 @ 7:00am - 12:00 AM Norwin High School

The 11th Annual Race For Grace 5K & 1 Mile Walk benefits the Reflections Of Grace Foundation. Race For Grace and its beneficiary Foundation are named after Grace Elizabeth Ekis, a precious 5-year-old who lost her courageous 13-month battle with a rare cancerous brain tumor on Valentine’s Day 2008. Grace’s cancer was a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a tumor of the brainstem for which there is no known cure and there have been no advances in treatment options for more than 35 years. Opening activities begin at 7:00AM, with the race beginning at 9:00AM. We encourage you to register prior to April 2, 2018 to ensure you will receive a race t-shirt. However, we will also accept registrants from 7:00-8:00AM on race day. Extra t-shirts will be ordered, but supplies may be limited. Be sure to arrive early to partake in pre-race entertainment and warm-up routine. Also, breakfast will be available at the concession stand starting at 7:00AM. After the race, there will be an award ceremony, many fun children’s activities, charitable hair donations, dance performances, Chinese & Silent auctions, and full concession stand of lunch items available for purchase. (If you are interested in donating your hair, please email RaceForGrace@reflectionsofgrace.org). Visit our merchandise and awareness area, which will be open throughout the day. The day’s events will conclude around 1:00PM. We look forward to seeing you on April 7, 2018! Reflections Of Grace Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donations to which are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

JDRF's 26th Annual Promise Gala

4/28/2018 Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown

Join us on April 28th, 2018 for the 26th Annual Promise Gala at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown for an unforgettable Havana Night! This black-tie event will kick off at 6:00 pm with cocktails and a silent auction. At 7:00 pm, guests will enjoy a multi-course dinner, dancing, and entertainment by The Elite Show Band. The highlight of the night, a live auction, will feature some incredibly unique packages such as a Napa Valley trip, dinner for 10 prepared in-home by a personal chef, a trip to the Country Music Awards in Nashville, a one-of-a-kind artwork created by local children with type 1, and much, much more! The powerful finale to the live auction is JDRF’s signature Fund A Cure program—the portion of the evening where 100% of dollars raised goes directly to the JDRF research mission. Our evening will conclude with Havana After Dark… where the celebration will continue until midnight. The Honoree of this year’s Gala is David L. Holmberg, President & CEO, Highmark Health. The Corporate Chair is Leroy M. Ball, President & CEO, Koppers.
