Some Great Pittsburgh Date Night Dinner Spots
Here are some great suggestions for date-night dinner spots in Pittsburgh.
This is a favorite spot of my wife and I. It's a cozy little place right off Ellsworth St. in Shadyside with both a great staff and great food. I highly suggest the goat-cheese puff pastry w/ pear sauce if it's on the menu. It's BYOB, so you can bring whatever drink you and your date prefer. And if you forget, you can take a short romantic walk over the bridge at the end of the street to the nearby Wine and Spirits.
If you like sushi, this is one of the best places in the city. It has a lot of options and everything is always fresh. I can't suggest any particular dish from here because everything I've tried is excellent. The wait-staff is knowledgable and can help direct you if you're an amateur like me. It's connected to Soba, which let's you finish off with one of their delicious desserts (pretzel stack!).
Muddy Waters Oyster Bar
This isn't quite as romantic or upscale as some of the other spots on this list, but sometimes that's what you need for a good date night spot. While oyster's are it's namesake, there are a lot of other options on their menu. The Shrimp and Grits are excellent and the Po Boy is great (Alligator anyone)? And it has a Seafood Tower. IMHO, any restaurant that offers a seafood tower is worth trying.
This is a newer restaurant, but has quickly become one of our favorite dinner spots for special occasions. It has a great selection of both fish and steak, with wonderful apps and deserts to compliment whatever you order. If you decide to sit at the bar, look for Jackson - he's the best bartender in the city.
