Autumn is back in Pittsburgh! It's time to get out and enjoy those brilliant colored leaves, pick a giant pumpkin and hop on one of those spooky hayrides that are now rolling through our local farms. Check out these top orchards, farmsteads and farmers markets that know how to celebrate fall right!
Soergel Orchards is in the North Hills of Pittsburgh in Wexford, PA. The autumn season begins with the fall harvest festival. The festival at Soergels is a great family friendly event and takes place on weekends in September and October. The sights, smells and sounds of the fall festival completely envelope visitors making for a true autumn farmstead experience. Parents and children alike will enjoy all there is to do at the orchard during fall festival time.

Pick Your Own
Pumpkin harvest begins in October. Enjoy a tractor ride into the fields and find that perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin for Halloween. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this timeless classic harvest ritual.
Simmons Farm is located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh in McMurray, PA and offers seasonal pick your own apples and pumpkins. Fall activities begin in mid-September and wrap up in the first week of November.

Trax Farms is located in Finleyville, PA and is known as one of the oldest and most well-known fruit and vegetable farms in Pittsburgh and the South Hills. Their annual Fall Festival is a tradition for many families in the South Hills and greater Pittsburgh area. There’s something for everyone from grandparents to grandkids. Enjoy a hayride to our pumpkin patch to pick-your-own pumpkin or see if you can find your way through our giant, 3-acre corn maze!
This year activities include live music, BBQ, petting zoo, fun activities and much more.

Enjoy fall harvest at one of seven Citiparks Farmers Markets located within the City of Pittsburgh. All of the farm markets sell farm-fresh produce, baked goods and more. The Citiparks Farmers Markets are located in:

BARBECUE COOK-OFF & BLUES FEST at HOPEWELL COMMUNITY PARK9/28/2019 @ 12:00pm - 12:00 AM HOPEWELL COMMUNITY PARK
A day of food, blues and a great time with friends! Amateur frillers prepare their favorite chili, chicken, and\/or ribs. Cash prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each category. Public judging cards , limited to 100, will be sold for $5. Commercial vendors will provide your favorite summertime foods. Cold beverages available and live bands perfomring the best of the blues! This is a premier "NO SHUTTLE" event at Hopewell Community Park.
APPLEBUTTER FEST10/19/2019 @ 10:00am - 12:00 AM THE CAPTAIN WILLIAM VICARY MANSION
Demonstrators and exhibits will showcase the early history of long rifles and gun-making in Western Pennsylvania and Beaver County. Take as self-guided tours of the Vicary Mansion and witness the making of applebutter in an outdoor copper kettle. There will be baking demonstrations in the outside bake oven - weather permitting.
