Growing Through Grief Support Group

Growing through Grief is a free six-week educational support group beginning March 22. The group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening excluding April 5 and end on May 3. Pre-registration is required. Facilitated by a Family Hospice bereavement counselor and trained volunteer, this free group focuses on managing and coping with grief after a death with the goal of rebuilding hope after loss. The group provides a safe and supportive environment for those grieving to explore how they have been impacted by loss and how to use healthy ways of coping with grief. For more information or to register for Growing through Grief, contact the Family Hospice Bereavement Department at 412-572-8829. Bereavement support is a vital aspect of Family Hospice’s care and outreach to the community. Bereavement services, including individual counseling, are available to the bereaved of patients. Support groups are offered throughout the community and the year. The Growing Through Grief educational support group has helped hundreds of Western Pennsylvania residents since its inception more than 20 years ago. Additionally, Family Hospice offers Camp Healing Hearts, an annual camp for grieving children and their caregivers.
